minutesThis homemade cake layers recipe yields four delicious layers perfect for building cakes of various flavors and styles. With a balanced combination of flour, butter, sugar, and eggs, each layer offers a delightful texture and rich taste. Perfect for creating stunning multi-layered cakes for any occasion.
Ingredients
420 grams white flour
280 grams unsalted butter or margarine – room temperature
140 grams of sugar
1 egg
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 160 °C. In a bowl, mix all ingredients until combined. The resulting dough should not stick to your hands when handled.
- Divide the dough into 4 roughly equal pieces. Take a tray and turn it upside down. Roll out 1 piece of dough to match, as closely as possible, the size of the back of the tray. Coat the back of the tray with some butter or parchment paper, and place the dough on it. Cook for about 10 minutes and do the toothpick test. When ready, remove and set aside the cooked dough, and repeat the process for the remaining pieces.

- These are generally all-purpose cake layers, and the filling can be something of your liking—pudding, jams, mascarpone with nutella, or a combination of them.
