Delicious pork meatballs

freshly fried delicious pork meatballs

I’m so excited to present to you my family’s recipe for delicious pork meatballs. We always double the amount of these because we know that we will eat them so fast! I hope they will have the same success in your household.

They are a banger no matter if you serve them as a starter, on your platter of meats and cheeses, in your kids’ lunch boxes, or as a snack with some beers. They can even be the main dish if you want to serve them with different sauces or purées.

When food was scarcer, our great-great-great-grandparents added either bread or potatoes to the meatballs. They added these ingredients to the pork meatballs to increase satiety. In any case, the meat was the star of the show! Knowing this, we made various tests for consistency and flavor. And after many delicious trials, we ended up with this recipe. And it always blows our minds that the meatballs taste like a great party in your mouth!

That being said, if you like, you can add other ingredients to your liking. We enjoy the basic salt, pepper and a little vegeta, but if you prefer smoked paprika, chili powder, or any other awesome spices that make a hell of a meatball, let me know! I want to try the combo as well!

Enough story time. Get your ingredients ready, and let’s make ourselves some delicious pork meatballs!

Explore the savory goodness of homemade pork meatballs, crafted with tender minced pork and a medley of aromatic spices. These delectable spheres are lovingly fried to golden perfection, offering a burst of flavor in every bite. Paired with your favorite dipping sauce or served atop a bed of pasta, these pork meatballs are sure to tantalize your taste buds and leave you craving more.

Ingredients

  • 400 grams minced pork meat – I usually use pork leg but a fattier part can be used if you prefer

  • 2 large potatoes

  • 2 bread slices

  • 2 large onions

  • 4-5 garlic cloves

  • 1 egg

  • 1 1/2 tbsp vegeta seasoning mix (all purpose seasoning mix)

  • 1 tbsp black pepper

  • Neutral oil – for cooking

Directions

  • Place the bread slices in a bowl and cover them with cold water. Set aside for a few minutes for the bread crust to soften. Peel the potato and finely grate it. Carefully squeeze out the starchy juices.
  • In a different bowl, add the minced meat, egg, vegeta seasoning mix (all purpose seasoning mix), black pepper, finely cut onion, grated garlic cloves, and finely grated potato. Drain the water from the bread slices, squeeze out the excess moisture from the bread, and add it to the meat bowl. Mix firmly until well combined, and turn into balls the size of a ping pong ball.
  • Cook in the sunflower oil in a pan over low heat on both sides until dark golden brown on both sides. Place it in a bowl with some paper towels to remove the excess oil.

If you’d like to test out other goodies that are just as easy to make, I would recommend: the cheesy ham rolls or the delicious pork meatballs.
